Contracts

My last
few weeks have been spent creating a new "Contracts"
area within the Finances module. For those who are
familiar with CEDARWOOD, you know that contracts were
originally generated from the same record as the
Purchase Request or Invoice associated with it. Having
a separate Contracts area will do several great things:
That last bullet is what inspired me to write this blog entry. I've just finished putting together one of my new favorite screens. If you list disbursement dates or an invoicing schedule with your contracts, this screen will gather up all of those dates and present you with three lists: all past-due payments/invoices, payments/invoices coming due in the next 7 days, and payments/invoices coming up beyond 7 days. Next to each listing is a button that can be pressed to immediately generate a new purchase request or invoice utilizing the information you already listed in the contract.
The contracts area is really starting to come together. I am aiming for it to be fully functional by February 15. I'm very excited about it!
- Allow for one contract to be associated with an unlimited number of payments and/or invoices.
- Allow for the simplification of the Payables and Receivables areas.
- Allow for better tracking of payments and invoices associated with contracts.
