How does the process of implementing CEDARWOOD usually
work?
Committing
to a database system is a major decision. We want you to be
comfortable with any decision that you make and with every
step in the process.
Stage 1 - Determine if CEDARWOOD is right for your
organization.
-
Make sure you are looking at the right class of database solutions by answering these questions.
-
Look over our features.
-
See if it is flexible enough to meet your needs.
Stage 2 - Take a test drive.
-
Download the trial copy of the CEDARWOOD solution.
-
View the Navigating CEDARWOOD video to learn enough about the system to begin working with the trial.
-
Request a live web demonstration.
Stage 3 - Make the decision.
-
Make the decision to purchase CEDARWOOD.
-
Sign our client contract.
-
Work with Jason to determine your networking needs.
-
Purchase necessary licenses of FileMaker Pro and FileMaker Pro Server.
Stage 4a - Data Migration (if moving old data into CEDARWOOD).
-
Export a snapshot of your current data into an open format. Send that data to John.
-
Work with John to determine how the fields from your old system will match up to the fields in CEDARWOOD.
-
John will convert the snapshot data into a test run copy of CEDARWOOD.
-
Install the test run onto your server.
-
Have your staff review the data, looking for conversion errors.
Stage 4b - Web Site Preparation (if purchasing the Online Registration System).
-
Work with Steven to determine how your current website will link to the ORS.
-
Work with Steven to determine your settings for the ORS.
Stage 5 - Go Live.
-
Perform a final export from your old system and shut it down (if applicable). Send the data to John.
-
John will convert the data.
-
Work with John to set up your initial system preferences, to set up user accounts and privileges, and to set up the starting data for your supporting modules.
-
Begin running off of CEDARWOOD.
-
Perform any necessary data entry and/or data cleanup.
-
Bring the Online Registration System online.
