Resources for Continuing Education
Providers
As
responsible members of the adult learning community, we
would like to share the following resources with you. Do
you have a favorite freeware or shareware program that
helps you to give better presentations or to better manage
your adult learning program? Let us know, and we'll share
your insights here.
Woodland Gameshow (Public Beta
- Version 0.8)
What do the creatures of CEDARWOOD do when not helping you
manage your data?
Scampy the Scorekeeping Squirrel and his friends help you
with your presentations. With Woodland Gameshow, you can
create and maintain a database of "Question Sets".
Dynamically select the Question Sets appropriate to your
current training, and start the game. Unlike
PowerPoint-based gameshow solutions, Woodland Gameshow
allows you to keep score and to set your scoring
preferences.
OTTERS (Online Tickets for Technology
Emergencies, Requests, and Support (Coming Soon - Free
for CEDARWOOD customers)
Do you provide technical support to the schools/clients
that you serve?
Our North River Otters don't spend all of their time
playing in the rivers. They can also help you to manage
work requests submitted by your schools. Assign the
technology contact at the school a client ID and password.
Clients can log in to OTTERS through their web browser to
submit work tickets. The "manager" of your tech department
receives the ticket in an in-box, where he can assign a
primary and a secondary support staff member to work on it.
Staff can make notes as to the progress of the ticket,
which can be seen by the clients so that they do not need
to call for an update. The "manager" can see the status and
history of all staff. There is even a home page where you
can show the current status of your major services. OTTERS
is all about allowing you to spend your time solving
problems, rather than being on the phone talking about
them.
